My rating: 3 of 5 stars
More like 3.5 Although I really liked this book, there are major problems with the writing and construction of sentences and paragraphs. Firstly, there are times when the writer says things like, someone is getting into their car about to drive off. Then in the next paragraph, she will say that they finished breakfast and then they left. Secondly Ana says "Sorry?" every time she questions something and it's often, just as Max says "What?" every time. Thirdly, there are just a lot of grammatical errors. Either she should get someone to read her material before she releases it, hire an editor, or hire another editor, but the mistakes are glaringly noticeable. Finally, it's just a little too long. Too many characters to keep track of, with not enough storyline to know who they are when she mentions them later. Like George, the lawyer. I think we met him once in the book, but he's referenced several times throughout the story.
But... I thought the book was great. The main character was hysterical. I loved it when she would get riled up and go off on people. I loved that Max loved it when she would go off. I loved that he fought for her no matter what.
I read a review before buying the book, where someone gave it low marks because of the misunderstandings that happen. I wonder if they've ever read a romance before. They are filled with misunderstandings. That's the structure of these things. I thought they were reasonable for the most part. Although I knew who did it from the beginning, there were a lot of twists and turns that made me wonder if my thoughts were correct, and I was.
I laughed a lot and that's the reason I liked it. But all the issues are the only reason I'm not giving it a full 4 stars.
