Cute short novella. Zoe is a 22 year old college drop out. She institutes a plan to drop in on her stepbrother, eight years her senior, in order to seduce him and find out if the feelings she has for him are reciprocated.

Matt has moved from New Zealand to Australia to get away from the feelings he's had for Zoe since the day she turned 19 and kissed him after opening the birthday gift he got her. Now she's in his bed and their parents want her to stay with him to keep an eye on her.

Matt's resolve to stay away from Zoe, quickly fades and they immediately begin a sexual relationship. But Matt's ex-girlfriend, Marissa, who doesn't realize she's an ex, calls to invite him and his sister to a party. Zoe believing that Matt doesn't care for her as much as she does for him, since he won't set Marissa straight, spends the night dancing with every available man who asks.

Matt, not liking any of it, blurts out to Marissa that he and Zoe are lovers. Marissa endeavors to spred the rumors that the brother and sister are sleeping together, mindful of the fact that they aren't related. It's her form of revenge. She even brings friends to the restaurant where Zoe works and brings up the relationship while ordering. Matt's boss, has given him an ultimatum. The author never says exactly what it is, but you and infer that it's to either break up with Zoe or lose his job. I don't know how that's legal, but Matt makes the decision to ask Zoe to marry him while they are are taking a shower together.

At the same time, their parents show up. Matt informs his mother and Step-Father that he was in the bathroom with the woman he's going to marry. When Zoe, exits the bathroom, their mother is confused and upset, but their father seems resigned to it and alludes to the fact that he always suspected there was something between the two.

I would have liked it if the story was longer and more involved, but I have to say there's something to say about the story just getting to the point. I wanted to punch Marissa in the face. She used games to try to keep Matt dangling, but since they didn't work her venom came out.

Like I said, cute.
