Samantha "Sammie" Dennison was sixteen when she discovered she was pregnant by the town jock whom was probably too drunk to know he'd even slept with her. Eighteen years later, her daughter, Lindsey, has left for college and the "Empty Nest Syndrome" is in full effect. It doesn't help that her "rat bastard" of a husband, Jack, spends as little time away from her as possible.
On a whim Samantha starts to work out and in taking a pole dancing class, becomes Diamond Girl , a hot stripper at a gentlemen's club.

Diamond Girl aka Sunny, draws the attention of biker club member Slate.

There's something about Diamond Girl that draws Slate in. Soon they begin an affair, with Slate knowing she's married, but drawing a promise from her that she will never let her husband touch her unless it's absolutely necessary. The fact that he doesn't like touching her, means it won't be a problem until, Slate's private life and Sammie's real life collide.
Jack isn't a good husband in any way. He's abusive to the point of criminal. But Sammie's become stronger as she's gotten a taste of what real love is all about and her persona of Diamond Girl has helped her find herself.
Once Slate figures out that they are meant to be together, there is nothing that will keep him from his Diamond Girl.
I loved these two together. it was tough to know that Sammie let herself be so unhappy and abused by Jack for so many years. But I understand that she'd been so young when she was, basically, forced to marry Jack by her parents. Jack got a career and money out of. She just didn't know what a real relationship was supposed to be. It was tough to read sometimes because of the abuse. But I cheered for her when she stood up for herself and kind of out smarted Jack.
I think she should have been more honest with Lindsey about who her father was, but I respect that she tried to maintain the idea of the relationship they had with each other. Sammie was a good mom.
