Raid by Kristen AshleyMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Look, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Kristen Ashley fan and I loved Raid and Hanna. But I have to say some of the angst and drama is gone from her books now that she's edited to death by the publishers.
The thing I love about her books is that they go into such depth, but don't feel like they go on too long. The drama and anxiety of one of the heroes or heroines being in danger or getting into trouble is palpable and was lost in this one. Yes, drama and danger came to Hannah, but the build up was gone from this book.
That being said, I loved how Hannah, all of a sudden, came on Raid's radar. I love how he was the moment he decided she was going to be his and never wavered from that. Hanna was a bit too timid for my liking and for a Kristen Ashley heroine. But she made up for it by sticking with the man she wanted, no matter what happened in their relationship.
Hannah's Grams, Mildred, was a hoot and her story made me cry.
Though this wasn't my favorite of the Kristin Ashley books, it wont deter me from reading anything in the future, especially the Chaos series.
