I have purchased a few books by this author based on their descriptions, but this is the first time I've actually read her. I really liked this book. It was cute, quick to read and I liked the characters. Jaya's friends Micha and Ricca (what's with those names?) were fun and very different, which I liked about them.
I liked how Alec falling for her, though she was physically different from his usual type, was only an issue because she wasn't a bubble head. His step-mother, Adele, who'd raised him, liked Jaya right off because she was smart, direct and stood up for herself.
I loved how they had sex everywhere they could. Especially when they used it to mark off one of the items on her Thirty List (Things to do before she turned thirty).
Jaya's whole family seemed to be against her, when she spent all her time trying to be what they needed from her. Even he own father fires her in favor or her ex-fiance who was to marry her sister. No one seemed to understand that their actions had an impact on Jaya's self worth. So when Alec came into her life and was a breath of fresh air with his openness about his lack of commitment to anything, Jaya jumped at the chance to try something new.
Little did she know that open, carefree Alec was being just as dishonest with her as everyone but her best friends. But falling for the guy who says he's not staying around too long is a mistake, but she just can't help herself.
They had fun, it was fun to read and ultimately I can't wait to read the story of her two friend. Hopefully Jaya and Alec are just as prominent in their stories as they where in hers.
Fun, I will definitely read this author again.
