I liked it okay. I liked The Marriage Mistake much better. I don't know if I would have continued reading the series if I started with the first book. After all the hoopla over it, I thought it would be much better than it turned out to be.
We never got to see or meet Nick's parents, so I really don't understand his drama. I get that they weren't ideal, but he was a little over the top about relationships to me. Alexa was a bit to prideful. I get not broadcasting your business to everyone. But if it's someone you've grown up with and have feelings for, then get over yourself, I say.
I liked the connection and fun Alexa had with Conte more than Nick. Not enough of her friend Maggie, who was a hoot.
I will read the next in the series, because I have it. But, not really holding out hope that it will be much better.
