Darcy Nicole Sheridan is Lindsey Dennison's roommate from college in Love Plus One . Darcy has been taking her classes online so she can be close to G-Man, Darin, only to find him fooling around on her. Heartbroken, and not wanting to be in town for the Holidays, she takes off for Belize. But, she's not alone for long.
Easton "E.J." Matthew, 6'3", extremely handsome, half-British titled entrepreneur, is in Belize on a working vacation with his assistant and fuck-buddy, Lacee.
He notices Darcy on her first day there, because she looks a lot like someone from his past and he can't stay away from her. Not willing to be her rebound guy, he doesn't sleep with her.
"Baby," he said on a rough whisper, "I want to fuck you in the worst way possible. What I don't want to be is some revenge fuck of yours in order to get back at your cheating boyfriends who you'll most likely get back with before you land in D.C. I'm not that guy, love. When I fuck you, there'll be no doubt in your mind as to who you're with and why your with me, understand?"
Darcy also meets the fun loving and sexy Eli who will turn out to be one of her best friends. He's also gay, which she finds great delight in keeping from both her parents and E.J. Eli will return to D.C. with her to work at her father's company, where things don't go as she'd planned. Her career is no longer and guarantee. She now has to prove herself and work hard to move up in the company.
Back in D.C. months later, Easton turns out to be closer to Darcey than she knew, infiltrating both her personal and professional life.
Soon, they fall into bed together, though Darcy knows Easton isn't the kind of guy to settle down. But its so delicious as he likes his sex in the most kinky of ways.
Someone from the past comes back to wreak havoc on Darcy and those she loves. She grows up fast and had a life changing decision to make.
Although I missed having a bad-ass G-Man as the main character, Easton in his alpha, stalker-ish ways, more than made up for it. Although he had enough baggage to weigh down Santa Clause, he couldn't and didn't let it keep him from the woman who could make him happy.
Darcy was a spoiled brat who got herself together with the help and straight talk of her friend Eli.
"It means find someone who likes walking that tight-rope with you and will adore you in spite of a your flaws."
"Like what?"
"Where do I start?" Let's see: spoiled, self-centered, sarcastic, sneaky, stubborn - and those are only the ones that begin with an S."
She was funny and not opposed to exacting some much deserved revenge where it was needed. I loved how Darcy rose to the occasion when everyone thought she was a screw-up. I loved how she decided to take her life and her job seriously and make something out of herself. I also loved how she was a loyal and dedicated friend to the point of putting herself in danger.
Easton had his demons and it took the love of a good woman who gave back to him as good as he dished out and never backed down, to show him that he could and deserved to be loved.
I loved this series and was thrilled when Andrea gave me the opportunity to be part of the blog tour and read one of the best couples. Thanks to my girl SueBee for facilitating my involvement. I sincerely hope it's not the end to the G-Man series, but even if it is, I will read anything by Andrea Smith
