As my friend RomanceBookVixen says, this Caleb and Brynna's story reminds me of Joe and Violet in At Peace . Even the daughters Josie and Maddie are hysterical like Violet's wacky youngest daughter. The difference is that Josie and Maddie are only six years old and haven't honed their skills of persuasion yet.
Caleb is a former Nave SEAL, who doesn't believe he deserves Bryanna and her girls. But the more time he spends with them, while trying to protect them, the harder it is for him to resist the pull of potentially making them his family. He's a tough Navy SEAL, but he's no match for Brynna and the twins.
Brynna had to leave Chicago and her life with her kids without a moments notice when she witnesses something that she shouldn't have. Now back in Seattle with her parents and her cousin Stacy (married to Isaac Montgomery), she's melted into being a member of the Montgomery clan. Only a few of them know why she's there, why she's paid in cash working for Isaac, why she lives in Natalie's house without a lease. She's off the grid and she has to stay that way to keep she and her girls safe. But she's fallen hard for Caleb and wants to show him that she and the girls are what he needs.
When the two of them get together it's electric. They can't keep their hands off each other.
Caleb, like all the other Montgomery men is broad shouldered and hot. But he has demons and feels that "His Girls" should have a man with no issues in their lives.
I love it when the girls watch Caleb work out..
It takes an accident for Caleb to realize that they all need each other. Once he does, he's never letting any of them go. They will be a family.
Kristen only gave us a glimpse at Matt and Nic and I'm chomping at the bit to get that book. Yay for the Montgomery clan.
