I love how tough and strong Lex (aka Alexa) is, but sometimes it's too strong. She and Dallas danced around each other so much they almost lost each other. Trying to be what they each thought the other should be, instead of being themselves and telling each other what they really felt.
All the sector machinations were a bit too much for me. I think the underlying story in the first book was much better. The threat of Eden and Woods. I'm still not sure what Cerys' plans are. Was she trying to set up Dallas, Flemming, or even Lex?
There wasn't enough of Noelle and Jasper for me in this book. Yes, I realize that this was Lex and Dallas' story, but I wanted more of the relationships of the gang members and how they work within the sector.
Speaking of Gang members. There are just so many that at times, I find myself trying to remember who they are and what there stories are. If I read about them in the first book. Example is Trix. Who is she and was she in the first book? How does a gang member differ from someone who lives in the sector and is under O'Kane protection.
Also, Dom. Why wasn't he beaten up and thrown out yet? He was a jerk in the first book and Jasper kicking his butt didn't seem to make any difference to him. He's still running his mouth and using his fist on the women in the sector.
And what, for all that's holy, is going on with Ace and Cruz? Huh?
Anyway, I need to understand the characters a little better. Doesn't mean I'm not going to read the next book. I'm actually looking forward to it. But, first the Novella, Beyond Denial .
